Food start-up? Ideas
to market your business
Some innovative marketing here from two food start-ups –
“Hello Fresh” and “Capsicana” in the UK - both typical start-ups i.e. with little
or no money! “Hello Fresh” delivers
ingredients and recipes to 60,000 homes monthly while “Capsicana” is a chilli
business. One of the initiatives from the “Hello Fresh” team saw them dressed
up as carrots, handing out root vegetables at tube stations - the veg had a tag
with a URL which was a video of their chef making carrot soup! “Capsicana” reach out to food bloggers and
look for meaningful followers rather than just numbers. They host Twitter cook-offs and developed a
Chilli sausage for national sausage week!
Oh, and they also came upon a PR guy who’s advising them free of
charge! http://www.theguardian.com/small-business-network/2013/nov/05/winning-new-business-small-business-how-to-market-a-food-business

Having not seen the movie, I can’t comment on this – but
those of you who have may agree or disagree with the headline proposition?
